The Kiski School in Saltsburg, PA has engaged DovetailED to lead a search for a School Counselor to start for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. Interested candidates should review the Opportunity Statement and submit a cover letter, resume, and list of references as a consolidated PDF to Ashlyn Chillemi, Senior Recruiter at DovetailED Talent Sourcing, at [email protected].

The Kiski School has been a leading college preparatory boarding school since its founding in 1888 and is committed to providing a transformative, life-changing experience for each of its students. Following a unanimous and forward-looking decision by the School’s Board of Trustees, Kiski became a co-educational institution in 2024 and is now in an exciting period of growth and evolution.

As part of this expansion, Kiski will launch its inaugural girls lacrosse program in the spring of 2027. The school seeks a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven educator to serve as the founding Head Girls Lacrosse Coach and a member of the faculty.

This is a rare and compelling opportunity to build a program from the ground up establishing its culture, identity, and competitive trajectory, while working within a close-knit boarding school community that values strong relationships, mentorship, and student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Build and lead Kiski’s girls lacrosse program as its founding head coach, establishing a clear vision, culture, and standards of excellence
•    Design and implement a comprehensive program that includes skill development, strength and conditioning, and long-term athlete growth
•    Organize, supervise, and coordinate all practices and competitions with careful attention to the well-being of student-athletes
•    Supervise student-athletes during all team-related activities, including practices, games, and travel
•    Develop and execute strategies to recruit and retain mission-appropriate student-athletes in collaboration with the admissions office
•    Work closely with the college counseling office to support and guide student-athletes through the college recruitment process, with an emphasis on selective colleges and universities
•    Foster an environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, and personal growth
•    Serve as a positive role model who enjoys working with adolescents and demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and care for students
•    Contribute to the academic and residential life of the School as a faculty member and serve as a student advisor and participate in evening and weekend supervisory duties
•    Engage fully in the life of a vibrant boarding school community, building meaningful relationships with students and colleagues

The ideal candidate is an energetic and committed educator-coach who is excited by the opportunity to build something new and meaningful within a growing co-educational environment. Qualified candidates will possess:

•    Prior coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level
•    A passion for teaching the game of lacrosse and developing student-athletes of varying experience levels
•    The ability to organize, lead, and grow a program with vision and attention to detail
•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students, families, and colleagues
•    A commitment to working in a boarding school setting and embracing its unique rhythms and responsibilities
•    The flexibility, initiative, and collaborative mindset necessary to take on multiple roles within the school community
•    A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
