This leader will drive the strategy, development, and execution of our vision and mission with the goal of driving systemic change in our approach to literacy and as a result help us to change the lives of children throughout the world.
Position Overview:
As the

Head of the AIM Institute for Learning & Research , you will need to be a pioneer, working fearlessly to reimagine education for all children. You will have a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with AIM’s Co-Founders and report to AIM’s CEO to develop and execute an exciting strategic vision for AIM that will continually evolve to enhance the translation of research into our nation’s schools. The pace of this translation has historically been too slow, but AIM has built a gold standard reputation for fidelity to the research and active implementation of that research into practice.

You will be working hand in hand with AIM experts and noted researchers, including those on

AIM’s Research Advisory Board , to put the research of structured literacy, neuroscience, and implementation science into a scalable process. This position is part of

AIM’s Executive Cabinet working directly with AIM’s CFO, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Head of AIM Academy, and Director of Development.

You will work with AIM’s nationally recognized school, AIM Academy, and the

Head of Implementation Strategy

to help codify their tools and practices to support AIM’s Integrated Literacy Model where literacy is taught “all day long” and represents a full range of Pre-K to 12 supports as well as Future Ready College and Career opportunities. You will work with the

Head of Product Development

in tandem with the

Head of Technology

as new content, products, and technology solutions are brought to market. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s trajectory through the development of partnerships, policy connections at the state and district levels, thought leadership opportunities, and client relationships in collaboration with

AIM’s Head of Growth and Impact, Head of Partnerships and RFPs, and the division of Client Success .
Key Responsibilities
Support and continue to enhance AIM’s culture of “children first” and support the passion and innovation of all team members with a clear focus on vision and mission of AIM.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of our progress in meeting the overall goals for the AIM Institute for Learning & Research in collaboration with Co-Founders, CEO, and Division Heads of the Institute.
Develop and execute an annual budget with the CEO and CFO to outline both revenue and expense categories and investment opportunities. Exceeding budget expectations has historically been a core accomplishment of AIM Institute reflecting its rapid growth and unique position in the market today.
Build a cohesive strategy with the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer to align with a fully integrated approach including social media, webinars, conference speaking, industry associations, press announcements, and research opportunities.
Collaborate with the Head of Implementation Science to build a blueprint for implementation to be applied throughout the educational ecosystem. The development of this blueprint will include methodology, tools and talent.
Secure and nurture relationships with new clients, state departments of education, and superintendents of leading school districts in the country working closely with the Head of Client Growth and Impact and the Head of Partnerships and RFPs. This responsibility includes leveraging current relationships and working side by side with AIM’s Co-Founders who serve as AIM’s chief visionaries to continue the 18 years of long-standing relationships that have been developed by these fearless women.
Continue relationships with leading researchers and university research partners in collaboration with the Head of Product Development, Head of Technology, and Director of Client Success; support AIM’s world-class team of facilitators and coaches to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness.
Engage actively in providing thought leadership to the market; activities will include conference papers, industry publications, and speaking engagements.
Build and mentor a high-performing team with the CEO, Co-Founders, Division Heads of the Institute, and overall AIM leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Passion for life-long learning, and a creative and innovative mind-set for continuous improvement and future development of what is possible.
Expert-level knowledge in evidence-based literacy instruction.
Expertise in building large teams, maintaining large-scale budgets, producing results-oriented and data supported outcomes, and creating a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.
At least five years of experience in leading a large team of professionals in the field of literacy improvement at the state level or large district level.
Active network of potential talent to build a fast-growing team to meet the demands for the products and services that AIM provides and is developing.
Proven experience in strategic consulting, project management, or implementation strategy, preferably in a client-facing role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Deep understanding of implementation methodologies, change management principles, and best practices.
Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and support implementation activities.
