General information:

The Head of Business Area for SDV and Logic Controllers in the Business Unit Vehicle and Software Solutions is responsible to lead the development and execution of a growth plan for the Americas market where the capabilities of Schaffler align with the market needs in this business field or can be developed.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop an assessment of the market situation and the capabilities of Schaeffler for products under the scope of BU VSS and an action plan prioritizing initiatives to achieve entry into the market.


• Develop contacts with customers.  Identify technical counterparts for each product from Schaeffler and host frequent (expectation is monthly) meetings face to face with customers.  Collect action items and lead closure and response within Schaeffler and reporting back to customer.


• Lead and manage internal projects to develop and prepare customer demonstrations.  Identify required resources, align with internal stakeholders and work with BU leadership to budget and plan for the activities.


• Work with sales, but also directly with customer engineering to find customer contacts, and actively present products and solutions to regional customers.  Collect input from customers to refine and drive actions and priorities within Schaeffler.


• Own the product roadmap identifying priority acquisition targets for the region.


• Drive technology and skill development initiatives to improve the market position of Schaeffler.


• Set priorities for all disciplines (Engineering, Sales and Project management within the BU) with respect to strategically winning business.

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Preference is Electrical / Computer Engineering), an advanced degree is preferrable (e.g. MBA, Master’s in Engineering)


• 5+ years’ of program management experience within the Automotive Industry


• Expertise in software and vehicle architecture to support and moderate meetings between technical experts.


• Entrepreneurial and customer centric mindset.  Able to find and development customer relationships and opportunities.


• Ability to interface on a technical level with customer contacts and support and coach technical experts at Schaeffler to achieve business objectives.


• Contacts and experience with the requirements of OEMs for systems containing electronics, software and systems control.
