Job Description

Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced, high-potential professional to lead the build out of a new discipline that examines the drivers of business performance and growth at a segment level, highlighting opportunities to improve results and evolve the portfolio of business in which Invesco chooses to operate. This role will report directly to the Global Head of Corporate Finance. Relocation assistance is available.

Invesco's Executive Leadership Team has charged corporate finance and strategy to drive long-term, strategically aligned profitable growth through insightful analysis of business performance that promotes an optimal allocation of the firm's capital and resources. The newly created business portfolio management role will bring together a cross-functional group of senior leaders to conduct fact-based assessments of Invesco's performance relative to the competitive landscape and client demand to identify opportunities to invest in business growth, improve performance, address impediments, or refine plans as needed.

The Head of Business Portfolio Management will be a highly visible role, working directly with members of Invesco's Executive Leadership Team, including the CEO and CFO. This role will require a strong executive presence and an ability to develop and maintain partnerships with senior business leaders and decision makers across regions and functions at Invesco.

This position will perform a vital role in fostering a deeper understanding of business results across Invesco's regions, sales channels, and investment capabilities in the context of the industry/competitive landscape, Invesco's strategy, and performance expectations. Ultimately, outputs will guide multi-year strategy formulation and help to optimize the firm's capital allocation approach over the long run by translating understanding gained from absolute and relative performance drivers into recommendations to better position Invesco for profitable growth.

You Will Be Responsible For:

Assessing Invesco's evolving business mix in the context of overall firm-level plans, targets, and expectations outlined in strategic and operating plans.
Ensuring the firm is allocating financial and resource capacity to areas of high client demand that provide strong returns and are aligned with Invesco's strategy.
Building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with senior leadership.
Providing an enterprise-level understanding of performance across key investment capabilities, products, regions, vehicle types, and distribution channels.
Performing and reviewing ad-hoc analyses as appropriate to better understand business portfolio performance and opportunities.
Periodically engaging business leadership to translate objectives established by Executive Leadership Team into operating plans and governance forums that drive accountability for execution and results.
Operating at a high level of effectiveness within Invesco's matrix organization structure and collaborating effectively with appropriate leaders and governance forums responsible for ultimate decision making.
Developing summary materials for engagement with the IVZ Board and incorporate into regular Board updates on strategic and financial planning or special topics as required.
Analyzing product line performance including assets under management, revenue, and return on capital vs. expectations set by Invesco leadership.
In conjunction with Corporate Development, making recommendations concerning potential inorganic opportunities (acquisitions, strategic divestitures, partnerships) to take advantage of growth opportunities, address capability gaps, and maximize firm profitability and return to shareholders.
Partnering with Global FP&A and Corporate Strategy leaders on firm-wide initiatives and execution as needed.

The Experience You Bring:
Minimum of 10+ years of related work experience, including financial planning and analysis, strategy formulation, strategic planning, financial advisory, and/or corporate development.
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is required; MBA preferred.
Background in investment banking or management consulting at a top tier firm is desirable.
Prior experience and/or working knowledge of asset management/financial services sector is highly preferred.
Experience operating as a strategic finance partner to senior business leaders with a successful track-record in improving and sustaining financial health of the business.
Operational exposure, including the ability to assess, improve, and redesign processes, develop strategic insights from profitability and other related analysis, and to utilize a performance improvement skillset.
Knowledge of financial modeling and analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets
Exceptional analytical skills, coupled with strong data visualization skills to effectively communicate recommendations by presenting complex concepts/ideas in concise, easy-to-understand terms to senior leadership.
Displays strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence at all levels throughout the business.
Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork by openly sharing information, seeking feedback and input from others, and partnering to achieve results.
Supports an environment of open communication and mutual respect.
Champions innovation and leads effective change.
Effectively makes fact-based decisions and solves problems by considering short term and longer-term global impacts.
Ensures that decision making reflects Invesco's principles, client interests, and business objectives.
