We are seeking a highly experienced strategic leader to drive the mid- to long-term business strategy, portfolio management, and product planning for a high-impact oncology-focused business unit. This role offers the opportunity to shape the unitâs direction, oversee a portfolio of initiatives and projects, and influence executive-level decisions. Prior oncology experience is not requiredâwhat matters is strong strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
You will lead a small, senior team of strategy professionals, managing multiple strategic initiatives and product planning activities across functions. Your guidance will directly impact organizational priorities, growth opportunities, and long-term competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute mid- to long-term business strategy and translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives.
Lead portfolio management, overseeing multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives to ensure alignment, prioritization, and optimal resource allocation.
Drive product planning and strategy, ensuring initiatives and product decisions support organizational objectives and growth.
Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of senior strategy professionals, ensuring excellence in deliverables and execution.
Act as the key liaison between Strategy and other departments, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, and Sales, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment across functions.
Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations that drive executive decision-making.
Identify growth opportunities through data-driven analysis, market insights, and creative problem-solving.
Requirements:
8+ years in strategy, portfolio management, business development, or management consulting; prior consulting experience strongly preferred.
Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries.
Proven success managing cross-functional initiatives and senior professionals.
Bachelorâs degree required; MBA highly desirable. Scientific background is a plus.
Native-level Japanese and high business proficiency in English.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence and align senior leadership.
Exposure to oncology is welcome but not required.
