Head of HR - Iwaki, Fukushima

This role serves as the senior HR leader for the Japan organization, partnering closely with local management and global HR leadership to drive people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to local leadership and management teams
  


• Lead HR generalist functions including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, training, and organizational support
  


• Support workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
  


• Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws, company policies, and data privacy requirements
  


• Support budgeting, labor cost analysis, and HR reporting activities
  


• Partner with global HR leadership on implementation of HR policies, projects, and organizational initiatives
  


• Manage relationships with unions and support labor negotiations as required
  


• Lead and develop the local HR administration team
  

Requirements

Required Experience

• Strong HR generalist or HR leadership experience within multinational organizations
  


• Knowledge of Japanese labor laws and HR practices
  


• Experience supporting business leaders in a strategic HRBP capacity
  


• Fluent Japanese and English communication skills
  


• Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management capabilities
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environments
  


• Exposure to international or matrix organizations
  


• Experience with labor relations or union interactions
  


• Master’s degree or HR-related specialization is a plus
