Job Description - Head of Merchant Acquiring

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced sales leader to launch and scale our merchant acquiring product. This individual will be responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy, securing new clients, and growing our acquiring portfolio across a wide range of verticals and distribution models. The ideal candidate combines deep industry expertise with strong commercial instincts and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop      and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for Merchant Acquiring      aligned with the bank’s overall payments and commercial goals
  • Grow      the merchant acquiring portfolio through new client acquisition,      strategic partnerships, and vertical market penetration
  • Maintain      and manage sales KPIs to create pipeline visibility
  • Collaborate      with commercial and treasury sales teams to integrate acquiring      capabilities with broader banking solutions
  • Educate      prospects on our Merchant Acquiring solution, including onboarding,      processing, settlement, and support capabilities
  • Represent      the bank in external engagements including prospect meetings,      conferences, and strategic discussions
  • Identify      and evaluate new market opportunities, product enhancements, and      partner integrations that improve competitiveness and value delivery
  • Provide      market feedback to internal stakeholders to inform product roadmap,      pricing, and partner strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s      Degree preferred
  • 10+      years of experience in the payments industry, with at least 5 years in a      senior sales or business development role within merchant acquiring
  • Proven      success selling acquiring products to ISOs, ISVs, fintechs, PayFacs, and      banks
  • Familiarity      with embedded finance models and integrated payments in vertical SaaS      environments
  • Understanding      of digital onboarding, tokenization, mobile wallets, and other next-gen      payment technologies
  • Deep      knowledge of applicable card network rules, acquiring risk standards, and      regulatory considerations
  • Strong      cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively      with compliance, operations, product, and commercial teams
  • Excellent      communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience      working with or selling solutions powered by providers such as Fiserv,      NMI, or Alloy is a plus
