Head of Metadata Management

Support the design and implementation of metadata repositories and tools to capture, store, and management metadata effectively. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including data owners, data stewards, and IT teams, to gather metadata requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Support data lineage and impact analysis activities by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of metadata documentation and lineage mappings. Manages the development of logical database designs across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed systems, Web, e-commerce). Provides comprehensive consulting to client and IT management and staff in the identification and resolution of information flow and content issues. Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 12+ years of experience in data modelling/warehousing with related management experience, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Experienced hands-on Data and Metadata Management, from concept to implementation with a demonstrable track record of delivery. Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages multiple data modelling/warehousing teams. Strong stakeholder management and people skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure. You will have strong analytical and management skills, are familiar with Agile methodology and played an active role in scrums such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution. The ability to apply backlog prioritization to define sprint goals and enable iterative deliveries is key. Experience with complex data structures and ingestion methodologies to curate data with an interest on how core areas in applied machine learning such as NLP, computer vision, and personalization can accelerate successful outcomes.
