About the Role

We're looking for a highly connected, charismatic operator to lead our Startups vertical. As Head of Startups, you’ll act as both strategist and community builder, owning our GTM motion within the startup ecosystem and turning Slash into the default financial partner for founders and early-stage operators. You’ll work directly with our Head of Growth and CEO on a day to day basis to build this vertical from the ground up. You’ll drive top-of-funnel awareness through high-impact events, exclusive partnerships, and deep founder networks across Silicon Valley and beyond.

You’ll be the face of Slash in the startup community, hosting events, striking partnerships, and creating opportunities to embed Slash in founder workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and lead the Startups vertical at Slash, with full ownership over revenue, growth, and community

  • Act as a magnet for top-tier founders through dinners, events, demo days, and incubator/investor partnerships

  • Design and execute scalable founder outreach, onboarding, and retention strategies

  • Represent Slash at high-leverage ecosystem events and serve as the face of our startup presence

  • Identify unique financial pain points in the startup lifecycle and influence product roadmap accordingly

We’re Looking for Someone Who

  • Has deep experience operating or investing experience in the startup ecosystem

  • Is deeply embedded in the Bay Area founder and investor communities (YC, a16z, First Round, etc.)

  • Has an innate ability to build trust quickly with elite operators and founders

  • Is energized by in-person work and excels at hosting, connecting, and closing

  • Thinks strategically but executes quickly: you should know how to create playbooks, not just talk strategy

  • This is a founder-like role where you get to take on the role of a "growth" founder.
