Job Description:
The Role:
The Head of Technology for AltIQ, a new initiative within Fidelity Lab, will be responsible for defining and executing the end-to-end technology strategy for a new innovative investment platform. This role will oversee the design, integration, build, and the ongoing evolution of a scalable system that supports Alternative Investments. The ideal candidate will partner closely with investment, operations and product teams to translate requirements into a robust, secure, and high-performing solution(s) while ensuring alignment within regulatory, compliance and Fidelity standards.
This leader will build and manage a high-performing engineering organization that will start small and grow while establishing best practices in architecture, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure using modern technologies.
The Head of Technology will also be involved in vendor selection, third party systems integration, data aggregation, budget management while fostering a culture of innovation.
This role requires a blend of strategic vision, hands on technical expertise, and the ability to operate across various Fidelity Business units while maintaining an entrepreneurial environment and spirit.
Responsibilities Include:
Define and execute the overall technology strategy aligned with AltIQ product vision.
Architect, build, and scale a robust technology platform risk, analytics, and investment opportunities by integrating and aggregating data from both internal and third-party sources.
Partner closely with investment, product, and operations teams as well as various other Fidelity business units to translate complex business requirements into effective technology solutions.
Lead the design and implementation of a secure, high-performance, and scalable system across the Alternative Investments asset class.
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering and data organization.
Establish and enforce best practices in software architecture, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure and data governance.
Drive adoption of modern technologies, including data platforms, API’s, and extensive use of AI/ML as well as levering automation tools for build and delivery.
Oversee vendor selection, third-party integrations, and the overall technology ecosystem.
Manage technology budgeting, resource allocation, and project prioritization while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000-285,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
