Head Start Teacher - Positive Work Culture

Our client is an amazing non-profit organization that provides early child-care services to those of low-income communities throughout California. They have multiple locations in the valley, including Chatsworth, Van Nuys, Arleta, and other locations in the valley.

We are searching for an aspiring and smart Head Start Teacher to join our client. This is one of our most exciting positions in this field!

This is a full-time, temporary position until June.
Regular shift Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:45 pm (Overtime offered)
If you are not able, hours can be Monday to Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm

You will be responsible for providing quality preschool services for children enrolled in their Head Start program. You will stimulate learning in all developmental domains and encourage family engagement in all aspects of the program.

You will also:

• Provide ongoing assessment of progress and facilitate transition activities into kindergarten.
• Implement center services plans, and ensure the center operates successfully from opening to closing.
• Guide the Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide, following policy for Head Start 0-5.
• Develop goals for the children and curriculum for age-appropriate activities (indoors or outdoors)
• Adapt curriculum to meet all children's needs (ex. special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse)
• Partner with parents to provide care for all preschoolers, including feeding and diapering.
• Provide and participate in all classrooms and parent conferences, MDTM, home visits, IEP/IFSP processes, and other meetings.
• Ensure required reports are adequate and timely submitted to the Agency and the State.
• Submit weekly lesson plans to the Center Director for review.
• Ensure adherence to Suspected Child Abuse reporting policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality for all data, records, and other relevant information. 

This is what we are looking for in your candidacy:

• 2 years of experience working with families and children in a preschool setting, or similar
• Bachelor’s degree and AT LEAST 24 credits of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or similar.
• You hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate within 30 days of hire.
• You hold and maintain a current California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Teacher Permit or above based on the CTC Matrix upon hire or apply within 60 days of hire.
• You can keep calm in an emergency.
• You are open to occasional travel, including meetings, training, and sponsored events.
