One of our clients is seeking a Head Start Teacher to provide service in Edgewater, MD
CLIENT'S HOURS
* Schedule is Mon-Fri 7.30am - 3.30pm or 9am - 5pm
* Immediate Start

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Demonstrate knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards.
* Ensure the health and safety of the children in your care and in the center.
* Work with the teaching team to collect and input concrete anecdotal notes for each child into Teaching Strategies and use that documentation as part of assessing the child's progress.
* Complete scheduled checkpoints and family conferences
* Discuss and engage in transition conversations and activities with children, families, and staff.
* Work cooperatively with other staff to ensure the individual needs of each child are met as the situation demands.
* Ensure that the classroom is prepared before the children arrive and is properly cleaned/reset after the children depart.
* Provide a learning environment that promotes developmentally appropriate practices and safety.
* Assure all required classroom documentation, record keeping, and other duties as assigned are completed efficiently, and on time. (Lesson plans, teaching strategies, conference forms, attendance, meal counts, monthly contact, supply orders, etc.)
* Attend and be actively involved in weekly staff meetings, teacher planning meetings, and family engagement meetings.
* Assist with meeting center goals and school-readiness goal setting.
* Perform other duties as assigned
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
* High School Diploma or certificate of high school equivalency
* 90-hour Childcare Certificate
* 45-hour Infant/Toddler Certificate
* At least 1 year of experience working with infants/toddlers and/or preschoolers, or at least one year of college (30 hours), or a combination of both.
* Able to maintain 12 clock hours of continuing education credits yearly.
* All of the above and the Infant & Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA), OR
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
* Must Have CPR & First Aid
* Knowledge of and respect for confidentiality.
* Willing and able to work in a high-energy environment, to be organized, and to prioritize the needs of participants and workload.
* Desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
