Head Teller

Description

Supervises activities of tellers engaged in receiving and paying out money and keeping records of transactions in the Bank. In addition may perform all duties and responsibilities of a Teller II; Vault Teller and/or New Accounts Representative.

Requirements

• Approve checks for payment
• Cash checks and pay out money per the Bank’s policy on Large Withdrawals after verification of signature and customer balances 
• Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amount and examine checks for endorsement
• Accurately process loan payments and line of credit advances
• Review customer complaints and refer to supervisor if necessary
• Hold surprise audits of teller cash for each teller vault, the main vault, coin machine and ATM
• Assign duties by written or oral instructions
• Provide ongoing training of tellers in customer service and banking procedures to improve efficiency
• Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances or refer problem to supervisor
• Open and close main vault door(s) and complete the opening/closing vault and lobby doors log if manager is absent 
• Open night depository and record contents if manager is absent
• Complete and send the monthly Teller Difference Report to Branch Coordinator 
• Complete and send the Security Report to the Security Officer Monthly
• Complete the Bait Strap Report Monthly 
• Open all types of new deposit accounts
• Have working knowledge of IRA accounts and HSA accounts
• Serves as a Notary Public for the Branch Office
• Assists with overseeing the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager
