Responsibilities

• Focus on workplace safety and compliance with procedures and MSHA regulations
• Develop, implement, and improve safety policies, procedures, and programs as needed
• Provide safety training and education
• Conduct risk assessments
• Inspect work environments underground and on the surface
• Investigate accidents and accompany MSHA on inspections
• Evaluate and recommend control measures to minimize risk
• Schedule required annual physicals and hearing tests
• Assist with weekly and monthly H&S reporting
• Maintain accurate and organized records of training, inspections, and investigations
• Promote a positive safety culture across all departments

Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and stay organized
• Experience in workplace safety and compliance with MSHA regulations is preferred
• MSHA Trainer Certification preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Relevant certifications in health and safety preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is a plus

Experience Requirements

• Industry experience preferred
• Experience in safety compliance and training in a mining or industrial environment is beneficial
