Compensation/Benefits: 

• $24-25 per hour, depending on experience

Accountability: 

• Accountable to Employment Services Program Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• No supervisory responsibilities 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain & create positive relationships through mutual respect and understanding with unhoused neighbors and provide support for their wellbeing 

• Provide outreach and support to individuals at Cultivate Initiatives' main office & other program locations including shower sites  

• Educate community members on OHP & other health insurance’s benefits, eligibility, enrollment, and more to support individuals in receiving, maintaining, and using benefits 

• Possess a good understanding of, and continue to learn about resources that unhoused individuals can access and benefit from to educate others on these resources 

• Work well within a team & collaborative environment and lead other staff members or volunteers during outreach activities 

• Meet regularly with the Employment Services Program Manager to ensure proper completion of job duties 

• Follow safety policies, procedures and community guidelines

• Assist with administrative aspects of the program, including but not limited to forms, reports, reimbursements, and reporting data for collection and tracking systems for the program 

• Collaborate with and work alongside other outreach workers, housing, health, and other Cultivate Initiatives staff 

• Assist with coverage of the front desk when Hub Host is on break or out of the office 

• Represent Cultivate Initiatives to various partners and community members 

• Participate in meetings and trainings within the organization 

• May perform other duties as requested by supervisor
   

Qualifications: 

• Strong knowledge of community resources int he Portland and greater Portland area
  


• Knowledge of ODHS benefits including SNAP, OHP, and SSI


• De-escalation and mental health first aid


• Previous experience working with the unhoused population


• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate the web


• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. 
  


• Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, from quiet offices to louder, industrial settings. 


• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  
  


• Work requires the ability to perform repetitive movements of the wrist, hands, or fingers due to continuous use of computer keyboards and other office equipment.
  


• Work requires the ability to remain calm under pressure


• This position may need to travel with teams to onsite locations occasionally


• Being physically present in the CI offices from 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday - Friday


• Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or religious exemption
  


• Must be able to provide proof of Driver’s License
