COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
$17.25-$18.70/HR

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides high-quality reproductive health, family planning, and patient support services through a combination of clerical, educational, laboratory, and call center responsibilities. Working collaboratively as part of the health center and call center teams, the employee partners closely with health center assistants, nurses, clinicians, physicians, and patient services staff to ensure timely access to care, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include delivering compassionate, respectful, and accurate customer service, answering inbound calls to support patients with healthcare access, and performing related administrative and support duties as assigned. The role may require day, evening, and weekend hours, travel to other sites, extended periods of sitting for computer and writing tasks, standing for over an hour at a time, and moving throughout the health center.
PHYSICAL WORK INTENSITY AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical requirements require sitting at a desk 7-8 hours per day in front of the computer terminal. Must be able to use hands for repetitive action on a daily basis. Lifting up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis and use of computer, telephone, calculator, laser printer, modem and fax on a daily basis. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Front Desk Skills
● Schedules all appointment types
● Registration procedures & appropriate financial/insurance screening – capable of communicating with insurance verification
● Provides correct forms to patient & ensures appropriate consents are signed
● Prepares medical chart for the day
● Fiscal accountability & performs appropriate procedures: collects payment; correctly uses check and charge verification systems, follows open/close procedures
● EHR documentation proficiency
● Other duties as assigned
● Periodic Travel to affiliate locations may be required
Appointment Scheduling
● Comply with protocols and workflows to verify patient/caller identities for established patients and update demographic info as appropriate
● Schedule appointments for PPGR health centers.
● Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base on and comply with laws,regulations and protocols in Missouri and Illinois, including laws for minor individuals seeking contraceptive care.
● Use the Patient Services Knowledge Base System (KBS) to accurately schedule patients at the most appropriate clinic based on:
○ Service desired
○ Insurance status
○ Eligibility for funding
○ Patient circumstances
● Fully prepare patients for their appointment by providing all relevant financial information and appointment instructions
QUALIFICATIONS
● High school diploma or GED certificate required.
● Customer service experience, preferably in a medical setting.
● Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus, but not required.
● Effective and efficient verbal and English writing skills.
● Able to function in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple functions.
● Computer literate with e-mail, and Microsoft programs.
● Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and organization.
● Accepts constructive criticism and uses it towards self-improvement.
● Fiscal Accountability proven.
● Flexible, non-judgmental attitude towards individuals from diverse backgrounds.
RISK MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
● Documents correctly according to training in electronic medical records.
● Reports any unusual circumstances to the Business Intelligence Manager or other appropriate manager and follows procedures as outlined in manuals, memos, and other PP documents.
● Follows the most recent PPFA/PPGR medical standards and guidelines and ensures the client is aware of individual follow up plans for medical service.
● Cognizant and compliant with policies and procedures as outlined in affiliate procedure manuals and in the PPGR Manual of Medical Standards and Guidelines.
● Protects PPGR and its assets from liability.
● Protects confidentiality of PP
● GR clients, staff, volunteers, donors, Board, and all other areas of operation.
