Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Health Communications Specialist III (HCS) to support the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Science and Medicine (OSM) in obtaining highly skilled personnel to support identified gaps in health communications and research critical to support the above-described activity. The candidate will support the efforts of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health for Science and Medicine (Long COVID Activity Lead), as well as OSM leadership

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drafting and ghostwriting - prepare talking points, slides, emails, abstracts, social media posts, press releases, blog posts, rollout plans, web content, and other communications materials as needed in accordance with HHS branding guidelines and overarching messaging

Thought partnership - participate in brainstorming, planning, or strategizing to assist in the initial development phases of Long COVID activities including, the National Research Action Plan on Long COVID and, Long COVID Resources Development

Coordinating - align activities and personnel across OASH and USG partner agencies on behalf of the Long COVID activity led to ensure convenings, work groups, assigned tasks, and deliverables are executed to meet the delivery dates laid out below

Literature Review - conduct rapid research on background that the Long COVID activity lead needs, collate and triage information on their behalf.

Information Management and Systems Improvement - ensure the Long COVID activity lead and OSM Long COVID team members' shared files are arranged in the most up-to-date way, develop processes to optimize information flow across Long COVID work streams.

Liaison - with other leadership and points of contact such as OASH Communications to ensure optimal information flow and contribute to the HHS Weekly Report.

Support communication to external stakeholders (e.g., community, providers), and federal partners, involving content experts, website postings

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field required

Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance
