Health Data Technician ROI (Health Information Management) - FT/80

Description

This postion will work on-site in Springfield, Vermont. 

The Health Data Technician – ROI will:

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently without direct supervision and have effective communication skills and a strong knowledge of the confidentiality policy. 
• Process all patient transfers of care to other facilities. 
• Deliver mail to the mailroom and pick up incoming mail and distribute it to appropriate locations. 
• Answer the phone and respond to any requests for confidential patient information. 
• Handle any in-person patient inquires in the Health Information Management department directly requesting their medical records. 
• Work with the Patient Financial Services department and Medical Assistants (MA) providing redacted confidential patient information. 
• Prepare and forward record request to Data Vant, Springfield Hospital’s outside copy service. 

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent  
• One (1) year of experience in an office environment 
• Secretarial/clerical experience  
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).
• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with telephone systems
• Self-motivated and functions independently
• Demonstrates problem-solving and problem-prevention skills.
