Health Educator (Temporary)

The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks a creative and motivated individual to serve as a full-time Health Educator. This is a temporary position with the potential to become long-term. The current end date of the position is October 1, 2026.

The Health Educator implements one-time and recurring health education presentations and programs in local school districts, agencies, and the community. Various activities include group education, one-on-one youth sessions, and school-wide presentations. The position also includes planning and attending community events and activities. 

Applicants should enjoy working with youth, public speaking, and community engagement. This position involves working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Successful applicants must be able to work independently, be creative, and be adaptive. 

This position also involved contacting community members by phone and email, so strong communication skills are necessary. 

The position requires travel between school districts and throughout St. Lawrence County. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

The minimum requirement is an associate's degree in Education, Public Health, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
