Qualifications:

• Associates Degree - concentration in Health Information Management (HIM) or Medical Records preferred


• At least one year related work experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review records for completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance. 


• Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats. 


• Follow a range of mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct. 


• Enter data into standard company systems, and review and verify it for accuracy. 


• Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering documents for release to external entities. 


• Complies with all rules, regulations, laws, and standards associated with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).


• Handles all requests for information from the Easterseals MORC, Inc. Health Record meeting the established turnaround times.
