Health Information Management Director

NHC HealthCare Columbia is seeking a Full-Time Health Information Management (HIM) Director to join our team!

The Health Information Management Director is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and confidential health records in accordance with established NHC policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and applicable health information management standards. This position works closely with center leadership and regional Health Information Management support to ensure the center's medical records and health information processes remain accurate, organized, and compliant.

Pay

Starting at $15.00 per hour, with pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent required

  
  


• 
  

  Previous medical records or Health Information Management experience preferred

  
  


• 
  

  ICD-10-CM coding experience preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Skilled Nursing Facility experience, including familiarity with PDPM, preferred

  
  


• 
  

  MDS experience preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CCA, CCS, or other applicable Health Information Management certification preferred, but not required

  
  


• 
  

  AHIMA membership preferred, but not required

  
  


• 
  

  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive health information

  
  


• 
  

  Strong computer and communication skills
