Job Description - HEALTH OCCUPATIONS INVESTIGATOR II (Health Occupations Investigator)

Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners\rSGHC/Benjamin Rush Building\r55 Wade Avenue/Tulip Drive\rCatonsville, MD 21228\r
POSITION DUTIES
The main purpose for this position is the responsibility for investigations of allegations of professional misconduct,\rfraud, violation of the standard of care or incompetence. Duties involve case management,\rstudies, and analysis prior to submission to the Board's Disciplinary Review Committee (DRC), conducting investigative research, obtaining statements and evidence, and preparing written\rreports of investigations.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:Six years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings.\r\r\rNotes:\r\r\r1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a bachelor's degree in the field of criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement or an allied health field (such as nursing, pharmacy, psychology, social work, nutrition, dietetics, speech pathology, audiology) from an accredited college or university and two years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings for the required experience.\r\r\r2.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience as a commissioned officer inInvestigator, PoliceandIntelligenceSpecialistclassifications or Investigator, Police andIntelligencespecialty codes in the criminalinvestigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for therequired experience.\r\r
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidates should possess:\r\r\r

Experience preparing clear and concise reports of completed investigations\r

Experience testifying before various Boards at formal and informal hearings\r

Experience preparing subpoenas for obtaining physical or documentary evidence\r

Experience providing case preparation for assistance to the Attorney General’s Office\r

Experience maintaining confidentiality of evidence such as medical records, x-rays, photographs etc.; and maintaining records of investigations\r\r\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in thisclassification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification may be required to have daily use of a motor vehicle while on official State business. Standard mileage allowance will be paid for use of a privately owned vehicle.\r
