Job Description - Health Specialist, Early Head Start Flemington

Expected hours: 27.5 hours per week, full year position



Job Overview: We are a fast-paced and high-demand non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population. Cross-training is available and expected for all positions.


Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Complete health, dental, mental health, and nutrition screenings within the required timeline.

  • Maintain positive relationships with parents and support parents as they complete the required. immunizations and other medical and dental follow-up procedures for their children.

  • Maintain first aid and pediatric CPR certification and provide first aid when necessary.

  • Promote health and safety practices within the program by implementing and monitoring health and hygiene practices in classrooms and the center


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED, working towards a health credential, or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), to be completed within two years of hire (required)

  • Associate's degree, LPN, RPN (preferred)

  • Experience working with young children (required)

  • Experience in the health and nutrition field

  • 2+ years experience with children and families(preferred)

  • 2+ years experience with health and nutrition (preferred)


The successful candidate will be: compassionate, organized, flexible, a good communicator, a team player


Physical abilities: Must be able to lift 30 pounds independently without assistance
