Description
The Healthcare Skills Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and overseeing training programs for Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic staff. This role supports onboarding, skill development, and compliance with clinical protocols, including infection control, HIPAA, PHI, OSHA, and VOSHA standards. The trainer ensures a safe, competent, and high-performing workforce across all clinical sites.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
? Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials (e-learning modules, manuals, reference guides).
? Lead classroom-based and hands-on clinical training on EMR systems (ModMed, Epic, Joints), workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures.
? Develop and facilitate training sessions for new hires and ongoing education for current staff development (in-person and virtual formats).
? Coordinate and supervise the organization's annual training programs.
? Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation. ? Conduct training needs assessments and recommend strategic solutions.
? Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies
? Promote adherence to all confidentiality, safety, and infection control protocols.
? Work with other departments and the compliance teams to align with operational needs and standards.
? Stay updated on trends and regulatory changes impacting healthcare delivery.
? Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Education:
? High school diploma or GED required.
? Associate’s degree in healthcare or healthcare training preferred.
? Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent medical trainer certification is strongly preferred.
Experience:
? Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
? 2–3 years of experience in training, staff education, or healthcare analytics. Qualifications and Competencies:
? Strong instructional and program development skills.
? Ability to train individuals and groups simultaneously.
? Positive and cooperative attitude toward coworkers, physicians, and patients.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Professional demeanor and ability to represent the clinic's values.
? Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
? Flexibility to adapt to evolving clinical and organizational needs.
Other Requirements:
? Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
? Must be able to travel between clinic sites.
? Current CPR certification
Physical/Mental Requirements:
? Regular physical activities including standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 30 lbs).
? Occasional exposure to work-related stressors.
? Ability to operate office and medical equipment such as phones, PCs, fax machines, ECG, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, and cast saws.
? Must use proper body mechanics during physical tasks and workstation adjustments.
