HealthConnect is a community-based program operated by United Way of Dane County that helps Dane County residents afford health insurance by paying the premiums of health plans they purchase through the Health Insurance Marketplace (Healthcare.gov). We partner with local healthcare leaders and insurance providers to help families receive access to high-quality healthcare. This program was the first of its kind in the country and is one of the largest to date.
This position works within the Community Impact department and is assigned to United Way of Dane County’s 211 team. 211 is a three-digit phone number that connects callers with free, confidential information and referral services. 211 is the central access point for people in need, where we connect them with resources to address multiple social service issues. 211 is comprised of the Call Center and Resource Management teams. HealthConnect and 211 work together in connecting people with resources to improve their lives.
Purpose of Position
The roles and responsibilities are twofold, focused on managing and promoting the HealthConnect program and partnering with 211 to advance the mission of connecting people with resources. This position manages the day-to-day administration and customer service of the HealthConnect program in order to advance United Way of Dane County’s goal of reducing racial and health disparities. Additionally, this position works with 211 in providing services through the call center and curation of the resource database. This position provides education and outreach for the HealthConnect program to increase enrollment in the program. Finally, this position ensures people are connected to the appropriate enrollment resources for health insurance through HealthConnect, 211, and other programs.

Salary Range
$45,700-$50,700 (based on experience). Along with salary, we offer a very generous employee benefits package. This position offers the options of health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance. United Way contributes 8% of gross wages to a defined contribution plan that is fully vested after 5 years of employment. and employees also have the option to contribute to a 403b plan. We offer our employees a good amount of paid vacation, sick and personal time off in addition to 10 paid holidays each year.
