Health/Physical Education Teacher

The Charter High School for Law and Social Justice (LSJ) is seeking a dynamic, dedicated Health & Physical Education Teacher to join our faculty. LSJ serves students in grades 9–12, emphasizing academic rigor, law, and social justice in an inclusive and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deliver engaging health and physical education lessons aligned to NYS and national standards.

• Teach essential health topics including nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and human development.

• Facilitate diverse, inclusive physical activities that promote collaboration and skill-building.

• Model and promote healthy behaviors and wellness culture throughout the school community.

• Collaborate with school staff to align wellness initiatives and student support.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, or a related field

• NYS Certification (or in-progress) in Health or Physical Education

• At least two years of teaching experience

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Health/PE or related field

• Experience teaching grades 9–12 in an urban setting
