Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic.  This role will make repairs to heavy equipment.  This position will report to the shop to do repairs including some field repairs as needed.  The position is 40 hours a week with occasional overtime when needed.  

Responsibilities 

• Repair equipment including but not limited to backhoes, loaders, excavators, and lifts 

• Diagnose and repair electrical problems such as starters and alternators 

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems 

• Operate and test equipment after repairs 

• Follow and complete equipment inspection forms 

• Must adhere to company and job site safety requirements 

• Be responsible for the upkeep of company work trucks when driving one  

Qualifications 

• 3+ years of experience as a mechanic preferred but not necessary  

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not necessary 

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work at extreme temperatures and stand for several hours per shift 

• Well organized, good communicator 

• Welding experience is a plus but not necessary (Wiling to train)  

• Have ability to use GPS and cell phone technology to locate job sites and use company emails and applications 

• Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record 

• Have the legal right to work in the U.S. for any employer 

• Maintain a yearly medical exam  

• Be on time and ready to work everyday
