Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for performing mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on large diesel-powered mining equipment. The ideal candidate brings experience working with heavy equipment such as CAT and Komatsu, a strong mechanical background, and the ability to work safely and independently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair heavy mobile mining equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, and filter replacements
• Use manuals, hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs and rebuilds
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, braking, and air conditioning systems
• Replace ground engaging tools and other wear components
• Perform basic welding and fabrication work
• Operate mobile equipment as needed to support site operations
• Maintain accurate service records using a laptop or mobile device
• Manage parts inventory and assist in ordering supplies
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices
• Assist in training co-workers and communicating via hand signals and radio
• Support site clean-up and general maintenance
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 2 years of mobile equipment maintenance experience (CAT and Komatsu preferred)
• Trade school or technical certification preferred
• CDL preferred or must be able to obtain within 90 days
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, kneel, crawl, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Willingness to complete OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications
