Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Performs a full range of operator, organizational, direct support and limited general support equipment repairs on both Light and Heavy wheeled vehicles. Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as but not limited to semi-tractors, semi-trailers, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, backhoes, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), conveyors, bulldozers, skid steers, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects; dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and hand tools; examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges; replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions; and tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency. May engage in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in both wheeled and construction equipment maintenance.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or factory certification preferred.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to work on Government contracts.
• Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
