Heavy Equipment Operator

Under broad guidance, the Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for:

• Operating motor vehicles and heavy equipment of such size and complexity that a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required by law.

• Performing manual and semi-skilled labor and other assignments as required.

Job Requirements

Education (Required)

• High School Diploma or GED.

Experience (Required)

• Experience in performing semi-skilled maintenance or construction tasks.

• Knowledge of hydraulically operated construction tools, interceptor line cleaning, heavy equipment, backhoes, and other heavy construction/maintenance equipment.

Special Licenses (Required)

• Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license from state of residence.

• Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License with H (Hazardous Materials) and N (Tank Vehicle) endorsements must be obtained within 6 months of appointment to the position, or it may result in removal from the position.
