Arrow Rental & Supply is currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on a diverse fleet of heavy civil construction equipment and automotive fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate is a safety-focused technician with strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while supporting both field operations and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on heavy civil construction equipment and automotive fleet vehicles, including dozers, articulated trucks, excavators, service vehicles, and other equipment.
Complete running repairs and maintenance work to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Replace components as required.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service work.
Complete all work according to manufacturer specifications.
Work closely with customers' maintenance and operations personnel to support equipment performance.
Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated, and properly maintained.
Diagnose faults and malfunctions in heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
Test repaired equipment to verify proper performance and ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and applicable legislated regulations.
Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.
Read and understand hydraulic and electronic schematics.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification in the Heavy Equipment Technician trade.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in either a field or shop/yard environment.
Strong interest in automotive equipment maintenance, as the majority of workflow consists of supporting the automotive fleet.
Field service experience is considered an asset.
Strong commitment to safety with knowledge of safe work practices and job site protocols.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Reliable transportation to and from work.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.
Proficiency troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electronic schematics.
Experience interpreting technical manuals and work orders.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.

You will support a fleet of heavy civil construction and automotive equipment, ensuring assets remain safe, reliable, and operational. This includes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, component replacement, equipment testing, and collaborating with operations and maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
