Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 Second Pressman

Shift: 10x 12-hour shifts (4PM - 4AM)

We are looking to add a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 Second Pressman to our team. This is an opportunity to learn one of our most advanced offset printing systems, develop new skills, and grow your career within our company. The Second Pressman plays a key role in producing high-quality printed products by assisting the Pressman with press setup, operation, quality control, and maintenance while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pressman with press make-readies and production runs.


• Load paper and verify the correct stock before each job.


• Monitor ink, coating, and fountain solution levels.


• Perform quality checks throughout the run to ensure customer specifications are met.


• Help maintain proper registration, color consistency, and print quality.


• Assist with washups, blanket changes, and routine maintenance.


• Keep the press area clean and organized using 5S principles.


• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.


• Work closely with Prepress, Scheduling, and Bindery to ensure smooth job flow.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Qualifications

• Printing experience is preferred but not required.


• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.


• Strong attention to detail and quality.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.


• Positive attitude, dependable attendance, and strong teamwork skills.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

• Heidelberg XL 106 or sheetfed offset press experience.


• Knowledge of paper handling and print quality standards.


• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
