The technician supports mission-critical data centers, labs, and supporting infrastructure, working alongside senior technicians and engineers to perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and project-based work.\n\nThis position ensures all facilities are maintained to meet or exceed company standards, applying specialized knowledge across multiple disciplines while maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment. Participation in an on-call rotation and emergency response is required.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent. \n\u2022 4+ years of Data Center Facilities or related work experience.\n\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\u00b7 Work alongside senior technicians and engineers on preventive maintenance, repair, and project activities.\n\n\u00b7 Support the maintenance of mechanical or electrical infrastructure in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company standards.\n\n\u00b7 Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex chilled water and refrigerant systems.\n\n\u00b7 Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P\u0026IDs, and electrical schematics.\n\n\u00b7 Perform routine rounds throughout the data center and property to ensure system integrity and operational reliability.\n\n\u00b7 Execute installation activities including rack layouts, electrical circuits, HVAC components, and hot/cold aisle configurations.\n\n\u00b7 Provide oversight and coordination of contractors and third-party service providers.\n\n\u00b7 Conduct daily inspections of all data center infrastructure equipment.\n\n\u00b7 Maintain accurate data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\n\n\u00b7 Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and other automated tools to optimize operational performance.\n\n\u00b7 Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations as required.\n\n\u00b7 Complete assigned tasks as part of project teams.\n\n\u00b7 Respond to work requests in a timely manner while delivering a high level of customer support.\n\n\u00b7 Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.\n\n\u00b7 Participate in Change Management processes, including risk assessments and procedure development and review.\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\n\n\u00b7 Experience as a Journeyman-level HVAC Technician.\n\n\u00b7 Refrigerant recovery certification for Type I, II, and III required.\n\n\u00b7 Working knowledge of basic computer applications including email, documents, and spreadsheets.\n\n\u00b7 Valid and current California driver\u2019s license required.\n\n\u00b7 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\n\u00b7 Experience working in mission-critical or high-availability environments preferred.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
