Job Description - Highly Experienced Housekeeper

Highly Experienced Housekeeper – New York City

Our client is seeking a full-time, highly experienced housekeeper to manage and maintain a private residence in Manhattan. This role is ideal for a polished professional with a deep understanding of high-end home care, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive, self-motivated approach. The ideal candidate is looking for a long-term position in a well-appointed household.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Maintenance:

● Maintain the residence to the highest standards using non-toxic cleaning products

● Care for hardwood floors, antiques, fine art, and delicate surfaces

● Develop and follow efficient cleaning systems and routines

● Ensure the home is consistently immaculate, organized, and guest-ready

Daily Operations:

● Personally perform all housekeeping responsibilities

● Manage a structured cleaning schedule and adjust as needed

● Prioritize tasks to ensure a smooth, well-run home

Coordination & Support:

● Communicate effectively with the family

● Coordinate with vendors and service providers

● Run errands and provide occasional personal support

Specialized Care:

● Experience handling high-end furnishings, luxury finishes, and valuable collections

● Skilled in the proper care and preservation of specialty items

Schedule:

● Typically Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accommodate household needs

● Must be comfortable managing responsibilities independently

Requirements:

● Proven experience as a housekeeper in a high-end or formal residence

● Excellent organizational and time management skills

● Proficient in non-toxic cleaning methods and care of fine materials

● Reliable, discreet, and trustworthy

● Able to work independently with minimal supervision

● Reliable transportation within NYC preferred

Personal Qualities:

● Warm, polished, and respectful

● Calm, intuitive, and collaborative

● Discreet with a low social media presence

● Strong work ethic and positive attitude

● Fluent in English

● Presentable, punctual, and service-oriented

● Receptive to feedback and dedicated to continuous improvement

Compensation:

● To $55/hour, depending on experience

● Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, 5 sick days, and 10 vacation days.
