Hilton Horizons Academy - PT Teaching Assistant

Hilton Horizons Academy is a growing hybrid microschool serving K-8 students in Kingsport and Johnson City. We are looking for a caring, reliable, and flexible Part-Time Assistant to join our team.

About the Role:

Our assistants help create a positive and engaging learning environment for students. This role focuses on supporting teachers, encouraging students, and ensuring our day-to-day programs run smoothly. No teaching certification is required — we are simply looking for someone who enjoys working with children and is dedicated to their growth.

Responsibilities:

• Support students with daily tasks, both academic and social
• Encourage positive student culture — helping kids make friends, stay on task, and enjoy learning
• Assist teachers in classroom management and small group activities
• Provide individual support to students who need extra help focusing or staying organized
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment

Qualifications:

• Passion for working with children
• Organized, dependable, and flexible
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Background check required
• Prior experience with children is a plus but not required

Schedule & Pay:

• Part-time, flexible hours (based on program needs)
• Pay dependent on experience
