HIM Clerk PRN **TEMP PROJECT BASED**

DESCRIPTION

Codes all outpatient records, including REF, CLI. With appropriate ICD 10 and CPT coding.

Check for NCD for payment purposes.  Crosstrain with ER / SDS / Inpatient and observation as well as GBH coding.

Check all outpatient orders for signatures and diagnosis and sends them back to doctors if one is not there.

Maintain confidentiality at all time in accordance with Protected Health Information (PHI)

Education/Qualification Requirements:

•  Minimum of high school graduate


•  Prior hospital setting experience preferred but not required.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 

Physical Demands:

The employee is required to both sit and stand for long periods of time.  Will be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Bending and stooping are frequently done in a work day.  The ability to think and work under stress, to tolerate being subjected to frequent interruptions, and be willing to work beyond normal working hours, as necessary are all required.

Working Environment:

Works in a climate controlled setting.

Ability to use Office Equipment.
