Health Information Management (HIM) Scanning Specialist

Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, US:CO:Aurora

Department: HIM Scanning

FTE: Part Time, 0.5, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

SCHEDULE: Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat (20 hours) at Anschutz Medical Campus

Shift: Days

Pay: $19.10 - $24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

Performs clerical duties and technical skills associated with medical record scanning.

Responsibilities:

Performs document preparation, scanning and indexing of medical records, and audits results for image quality and accuracy.

Assembles and maintains complete medical records.

Scans medical records accurately and timely.

Validates accuracy of scanned documentation.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

1 year of experience in patient health information or medical records scanning.

Preferred:

Training in Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy.

Certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
