Hiring Caregiver for a Male Senior in Rutland, Vermont, 05701

About This Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver to support a 74-year-old male client in Rutland, Vermont, 05701. The client sustained a broken neck in a motorcycle accident in 2023 and has remained in a hospital setting since. He underwent rehabilitation at Spaulding in Boston during the summer of 2024 and had regained some movement in his left arm. However, due to a lack of consistent therapy, that progress has since declined. He is typically most awake and lucid in the afternoons, making that the ideal time for visits.

🕒 Job Details:

• Schedule:
  - 3 times per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  - 2 hours per visit, flexible between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM


• Location: Rutland, Vermont, 05701


• Start Date: ASAP


• Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Assist with range-of-motion (ROM) exercises at both the beginning and end of each visit (start with 5 minutes, gradually increasing to 15–30 minutes total).


• Check if respiratory support is needed; request respiratory or nurse support for cough assist if necessary.


• Grooming support: Wipe face, eyes, lips, and mouth (with sponge stick) as needed for dryness and hygiene.


• Apply lotion on hands and feet, trim nails as needed.


• Ensure client has been changed, repositioned, and attended to for comfort.

Requirements:

• Experience with mobility support and recovery care


• Open to male or female caregivers


• Reliable and communicative, with a gentle and proactive care approach
