Purpose of the Role

The Holiday Production Assistant supports Weaver Street Market's Food House operations during the busy holiday season by assisting with turkey handling and labeling, food production, order preparation, and deliveries. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, flexibility, and a strong work ethic. Holiday Production Assistants follow directions accurately, work efficiently, and take initiative to support changing production and distribution needs. Through teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to food safety, this role helps ensure products are prepared, handled, and delivered accurately and on time.

A. Primary Duties of the Role

• Handle, organize, label, and prepare turkeys for distribution, ensuring accuracy and following established food safety and handling procedures.
• Lift, move, stack, and organize boxes of products, including boxes weighing an average of 60 pounds, using safe lifting and handling practices.
• Assist with food production tasks as needed to support staffing gaps, production schedules, and changing operational priorities.
• Support Food House drivers with loading, unloading, organizing, and delivering products to Weaver Street Market locations.
• Prepare and organize products and orders for distribution, ensuring proper labeling, quantities, and handling.
• Maintain clean and orderly production, storage, refrigeration, and distribution areas. Complete cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned.
• Follow verbal and written instructions accurately, completing assigned tasks thoroughly, efficiently, and within expected timeframes.
• Take initiative to identify tasks that need attention, remain productive throughout shifts, and seek additional responsibilities when assigned work is complete.
• Work safely and efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.
• Adapt to changing priorities and assist in different areas of Food House operations as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate task progress, questions, and concerns to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Food House operations and Weaver Street Market as a whole.

C. Required Qualifications and Certifications

• 18+ years of age
• Ability to safely and repeatedly lift, carry, and handle boxes weighing approximately 60 pounds, with appropriate assistance or equipment when needed
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production and distribution environment
• Ability to complete physically demanding tasks throughout a shift, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Availability to work 20–40 hours per week during the November 11–22 employment period, including weekends as scheduled
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred

D. Preferred Experience and Knowledge

• Previous experience in food production, warehouse operations, distribution, or food service
• Experience handling, labeling, packing, and organizing products
• Experience loading and unloading delivery vehicles
• Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures
• Familiarity with Paylocity application

E. Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for long periods
• Repeatedly lifting, carrying, and handling boxes weighing approximately 60 pounds, with assistance or equipment as appropriate
• Pushing and pulling carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements
• Loading and unloading products from delivery vehicles
• Use of hands and fine motor skills for labeling, packing, stacking, and handling products
• Working in refrigerated walk-ins, freezers, and temperature-controlled production areas
• Moving between indoor production areas, loading docks, and outdoor delivery areas
• Use of equipment such as pallet jacks, stock carts, and other approved production and distribution tools
