Home Care Scheduling Coordinator

Job Summary

Interim HealthCare of Columbia is seeking a highly organized and dependable Home Care Scheduling Coordinator to manage caregiver schedules and ensure reliable coverage for our clients receiving in-home care.

This role is essential in maintaining continuity of care by coordinating caregiver assignments, managing schedule changes, and responding quickly to call-offs to ensure every client receives the services they need.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is skilled at problem-solving and multitasking.

Key Responsibilities

  Create and manage daily and weekly caregiver schedules

  
  


• 
  

  Assign caregivers to client shifts based on availability and qualifications

  
  


• 
  

  Manage caregiver call-offs and quickly arrange replacement coverage

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate schedule updates with caregivers, clients, and families

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor caregiver attendance and shift confirmations

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate coverage for transportation and client appointments

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain accurate scheduling records in the agency’s scheduling system (e.g., WellSky)

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with the Client Care Coordinator and nursing team to ensure proper staffing

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure continuity of care by assigning backup caregivers when needed

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Previous scheduling experience preferred (home care or healthcare strongly preferred)

  
  


• 
  

  Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent communication and customer service skills

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency with computers and scheduling systems

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with EMR or scheduling software is a plus
