PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Guardians are looking for service-minded teammates, who are committed to working together to aid with all clubhouse, on-field, and in dugout responsibilities as assigned by the clubhouse manager and clubhouse supervisors.â¯The primary purpose of the Home Clubhouse Attendant role is to provide all players, coaches, and staff at Progressive Field with a comfortable environment that creates positive experiences and contributes to improved performance on and off the field.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Perform on field, game responsibilities as assigned by Clubhouse Manager, Clubhouse Supervisors, Coaching Staff, Umpires, Team Support Staff and MLB officials.
- Perform on-field, batting practice responsibilities as assigned by Clubhouse Manager, Clubhouse Supervisors, Team Support Staff, and Coaching Staff.
- Assist Clubhouse Supervisors with all pre- and post-game clubhouse preparation.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of the dugout for various daily activities.
- Clean and maintain player and staff equipment daily, including shoes and other on-field gear.
- Aid in all team laundry requirements before and after games.
- Continuously monitor and maintain the condition of common areas throughout the clubhouse.
- Support clubhouse and team operations by completing other duties assigned by Clubhouse Manager, Supervisors, and Team Support Staff when needed.
- Coordinate, inventory, and distribution of all mailing efforts, both internal and external.
- Assist in periodic equipment inventory and auditing.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- In-depth understanding of the game of baseball, its rules, and player/staff roles. Any level of previous playing experience is preferred but not required.
- Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.
- Basic computer operating skills (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, ABI, Ultipro).
- Ability to learn and operate basic clubhouse equipment (i.e. commercial laundry equipment, heat press, on-field equipment).
- Capacity to provide excellent customer service to all players, coaches, and support staff.
- Demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness.
- Proficient at analyzing situations and problem-solving.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiarize yourself with and comprehend the relevant policies and procedures of the Baseball Operations department and the Cleveland Guardians Organization.
- Develop a clear understanding of Baseball Operations personnel and their specific responsibilities.
- Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the Employee Handbook and our uniform requirements.
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Available to work the vast majority of all 81 home games during the months of April through September
- Work long and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and all holidays during the baseball season
- Work entire assigned shift, this includes but not limited to extended shifts due to; unexpected game pace, weather delays, and travel delays
- Typical Work Hours (subject to change depending on game/gate time):
- Night Games: 2:30 pm start
- Day Games: 8:30am start

The expected hourly rate for this position is $14.30. This rate serves as a general guideline; actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
