Job Description - Home Health Registered Nurse - Private Duty



Registered Nurse (RN)

The RN is responsible for ensuring that care is delivered appropriately and the standards of quality are adhered to.  We are looking to add enthusiastic members to join our independently owned and operated agency and see why we are described as “caring, compassionate, and cheerful.” We are independently owned and operated and are looking for high-energy individuals looking for per diem work, nights, days, weekends, and holidays. Currently, we have openings for private duty cases and facility staffing.



Responsibilities:


As a Home Health Nurse you will visit patient’s homes throughout Santa Barbara County to provide high quality care and services to private patients according to doctor’s orders and the established plan of care, while adhering to RN scope of practice. Duties may include but are not limited to the following




  • Assess, document and chart patient observation and vital signs at each visit

  • Complete evaluation tasks, including review and administration of Physician-prescribed medication

  • Dress or redress wounds and assess healing

  • Provide education to patients and families on proper home health care procedures and strategies

  • Coordinate with Physicians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other individuals in the patient’s care plan

  • Keep the patient comfortable through palliative care

  • Recommend care, tools or devices that may improve the quality of life for the patient

Requirements



  • Current unrestricted California RN license 

  • 1-5 years’ experience on your license

  • Reliable car/auto insurance

  • Clean background and criminal record

  • Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
