Report To: AVP Home Loan Center
SUMMARY:
With the goal of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities this position is responsible for leadership and prudent management of the credit union’s home loan process and products. Leads the organization in evaluating and responding to changes in regulatory, market and competitive conditions. Plans, organizes, and directs the department’s activities specifically the operations team, e.g., appraisal, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, servicing and secondary market.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises processing and closing employees in the Home Loan Center. Contributes to the organization's mission statement and goals by providing the highest quality of service, treating each person professionally - with warmth, courtesy, and respect, and making a personal effort to make members feel they belong and are important to the credit union.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in credit management plus five to eight years’ experience in mortgage operations, and/or credit and collections at a senior management level for a credit union, bank, savings & loan or mortgage broker; or equivalent combination of formal training or experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
May require Notary Public certificate to execute documents on behalf of members and the credit union. Real Estate Appraiser Certificate preferred. Must be eligible to be registered as a loan originator with the appropriate state agency.
FHA DE Certifications or VA LAPP Certification preferred.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, the Board of Directors, and individual members. Occasionally may need to make formal presentations on credit to groups outside of the credit union, such as Chapter Meetings, schools, and dept counseling sessions.
The ability to motivate and influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of leadership, clarity, diplomacy and trust. Obtaining commitment and cooperation, both internally and externally, is an important part of the job.
Demonstrated PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, access the credit union’s accounting system and member account information. Basic input, output, error correction, general ledger account structure knowledge essential to be able to perform the job. Ability to use and direct department usage of credit union mortgage loan processing platform. Spreadsheet application knowledge desirable, but not essential. Discretion in decision-making and sound judgment in problem solving. Solid time management skills with ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to adapt to change within working responsibilities, be it internal, market or regulatory driven. Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals and projects. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
