The job of a Hose Technician is to use all the tools and equipment necessary to assembly and test hose assemblies to meet customer’s specifications. A Hose Technician is responsible for accurately selecting correct raw materials, cutting hose to proper length, crimping the specified fittings in their proper orientation, cleaning and testing all to customer specifications. On occasion, they may be required to work overtime to complete a job on time or other duties, as the company requires.

The employee occasionally will work in heat (weather); this position functions within a normal warehouse environment.

Physical Demands
The employee will occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch; the employee will regularly stand; walk; use hands, fingers, to handle, or feel; Reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movement.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision; Distance vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception; Ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on their feet for 8 hours or more.
The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Tasks
Pull raw materials hose and fittings in the quantities specified in the work order.
Operate lifting equipment (i.e. forklift).
Operate tag machines
Operate the hose saws.
Operate the crimping machines.
Use power tools.
Clean (pig) hoses.
Test hoses (hydrostatic)
Cap Hose ends.
Package hoses for shipment.
Maintain traceability and records on quality forms and or work orders.
Detail Oriented – Ensuring assemblies are produced to customer specification.
Reading Comprehension – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and procedures.
Written Communication – Communicate and document work through written communication.
Basic Arithmetic – Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide.
Time Management – Complete tasks and assignments effectively, and in a timely manner.
Monitoring - Assessing performance of yourself and process to make improvements or take corrective action.
Problem Solving – Identify problems, develop, and evaluate options to correct, and implement solutions.
Active Listening – Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, and ask questions as appropriate.
Communication – Respectfully communicate with others to convey information.
Service Orientation – Actively looking for ways to help the company succeed.
Knowledge and Education
Must have technical knowledge of hydraulic hose and fittings.
