What You’ll Do:

• Deliver urgent patient care after hours, including admissions, symptom management, and other pressing needs. Think of this role as the “emergency room” for hospice patients in your neighborhood.


• Be a reassuring presence for patients, families, and our care team, providing clear, compassionate communication with physicians, nurse practitioners, and hospice case managers.

What You Won’t Do:

• You won’t be responsible for triaging patients on your own—our triage team handles that, and dispatches visits only when an in-person RN is required.


• You won’t manage an assigned caseload or ongoing patient care. Your focus is providing immediate, high-impact support when it matters most.

Required Qualifications 

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, Baccalaureate, or Masters Degree in Nursing. 


• Current State License as a Registered Nurse 


• Ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients, families, and caregivers in varied settings and to function effectively in the home or nursing facility environment 


• Skill in nursing practice, ability to cope with ill, disabled, terminal patients, family emotional stress, and tolerance of individual lifestyles 


• Ability to critical think and prioritize the needs of multiple patients. 


• Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage 


• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently 


• Ability to lift at least 35 lbs. and bear the weight of an average adult effectively 

Desired Qualifications 

• Experience in Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, hospice or home health environment preferred 


• Familiarity with Home Care Home Base (HCHB) is a plus.

Schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts plus every other weekend


• Hours: 10:00 AM-10:00 PM or 11:00 AM-11:00 PM
