As the Staff Development Coordinator, you are a member of the training and orientation team that is responsible for development of new and current clinical team members. Your guidance will directly shape the experience of our patients by educating the team that serves them. The job of a hospice nurse demands strength, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to doing what’s right, even when it’s hard. This role will provide the mentorship, inspiration and accountability to the team as they learn current and new processes that will allow them to be successful in meeting the demands of their role.
The function of this role will require the Staff Development Coordinator to work in-office and in the field, training nurses and aides. This is a full-time position with expectations of working Monday - Friday. 8:00am-5:00pm. This is not a management position and has no direct reports.

Essential Responsibilities:
Work Environment
Office based with field visits. While in the field training, must have the ability to tolerate exposure to elements, including, but not limited to, odors, body fluids, excrements, adverse environmental conditions and hazardous materials.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work for extended periods while sitting or standing and being involved in physical activity. Moderate to heavy lifting, at times assisting patients in the field while training. Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis. Must possess a sense of sight/ hearing or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet the essential duties of the position.
Mental Requirements
Must be able to work independently, make judgements based on assessments and data available and act accordingly. Must be flexible, innovative and possess good interpersonal skills. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress and demonstrate emotional stability.
