Provides comprehensive care for hematology and oncology patients, including assessment, treatment planning, symptom management, patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be available to work a minimum of three shifts per quarter, with additional shifts available based on departmental needs. Schedule includes 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and/or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between patients, clinicians, and care teams to ensure continuity of inpatient care.

  • Collaborate with physicians to assess patient needs and recommend appropriate interventions.

  • Enter and manage medication, admission, laboratory, imaging, and treatment orders in the electronic medical record.

  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including histories and physicals, consults, follow-up visits, patient education, and informed consents.

  • Coordinate patient care, improve communication among stakeholders, and support patient flow throughout the hospital.

  • Maintain required licensure and certifications while participating in ongoing professional development and training.

  • Support departmental initiatives, policy development, and hospital mission-driven goals.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising physician.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

Required Qualifications:


• Current Georgia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• For Nurse Practitioners: National Board Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
• For Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) through NCCPA.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) (if obtained through another provider, AHA certification must be completed within 30 days of hire).
• Maintain required continuing medical education (CME) hours and professional certifications as required by the applicable licensing organization.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Oncology nursing/clinical experience preferred.
• Oncology certifications such as ONS Certification and/or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) preferred but not required.
