The Position
This position is responsible for partnering with assigned hospitals to achieve or exceed goals in organ and tissue donation. The Hospital Partner Specialist will develop relationships, educate all staff, and collaborate to develop action plans and processes while driving a donation culture within assigned hospitals. In addition, this role will support referral management, data gathering and analysis to ensure hospital needs and organ and tissue donation goals are achieved. This role is pivotal in developing and nurturing relationships with instrumental hospital leadership and staff, while maintaining internal Mid-America Transplant communication.
What You’ll Do
Rounding per the Hospital Services (HS) process to broaden and strengthen support throughout the hospital.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key professional contacts including front line staff, hospital leadership, and physicians to best facilitate organ and tissue donation.
Gather and analyze data to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement for assigned hospitals.
Develop and maintain effective donation processes at each assigned hospital to increase eye, tissue, and organ donation. Ensure standard work for each hospital to support case activity (DCD, transfer, transport, Path of Honor, etc.)
Collects, analyzes and reports data results to key hospital staff and Mid-America Transplant management at frequency outlined in Mid-America Transplant HS policies and procedures
Collaborates with key hospital staff in formulation of action steps to increase donation through process improvement
Effectively communicates After Action Reviews, QAPI’s, Annual Plans and any policy and procedure changes to Key Hospital Contacts
Provides assistance at assigned hospitals in order to meeting federal and state laws and regulations regarding donation
Maintains timely and accurate records in CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
Interface with hospital staff for updates on referred potential donors including responding onsite in real time as needed to lead in overcoming any hospital barriers to donation such as, physician disagreement with approach process or concerns with Brain Death (BD) exams etc.
Effectively communicate donation strategy with key stakeholders.
Promote “Donate Life Month” activities to include a culture of donation and celebration.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Business preferred
2 years critical care experience or marketing, business development experience
Experience working with electronic medical records
Understand regulations and standards of hospital accrediting agencies and organizations
Skill in establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external contacts
Ability to communicate professionally across multiple health disciplines
Understand federal and state laws regarding donation (a plus)
Schedule
Weekday Days Shift Monday - Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm, occasional evening/weekend support based on activity
