Job Description - Hospital Pharmacy Director

Job Title: Pharmacy Director

Location: St. Ignace, Michigan

Salary: Approximately $155,000/year (based on experience)

Shift: Days | 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (Flexible scheduling; 80 hours per pay period)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Pharmacy Director to lead its hospital pharmacy operations in beautiful St. Ignace, MI. This full-time leadership role offers a $10,000 sign-on/retention bonus (paid out over 3 years) and the opportunity to oversee all aspects of pharmacy services, from compliance and staffing to budgeting and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all pharmacy department functions under the direction of the CNO
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure full compliance with hospital policies, DNV standards, and public health regulations
  • Oversee drug procurement and inventory through inventory control clerk
  • Maintain and update the hospital formulary and ensure safe, quality pharmacy services
  • Prepare and manage the departments operating and capital budgets
  • Direct quality assurance programs and maintain accurate patient records and departmental documentation
  • Coordinate all medication deliveries and workflow with the pharmacy operations manager
  • Attend and contribute to administrative and interdepartmental meetings
  • Provide clinical leadership, supporting inpatient areas including IV admixtures and decentralized services

Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacist (RPh or PharmD) with eligibility for Michigan licensure
  • Minimum of 35 years in hospital pharmacy leadership
  • Strong knowledge of hospital regulations, clinical pharmacy practices, and formulary management
  • Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and operational workflows
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
