Job Description - Hospitality Food and Beverage Coordinator

Position: Hospitality Food and Beverage Coordinator



Reports To:  Connections Pastor



Position Summary:  The Hospitality Food & Beverage Coordinator serves a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and well-organized environment at Community of Faith (COF). This position supports ministry events and weekly services by overseeing café operations on Wednesdays and Sundays, coordinating food and beverage needs for ministry gatherings, maintaining inventory, and stocking the employee breakroom.


This role is ideal for a service-minded individual who enjoys hospitality, organization, and helping others feel cared for while supporting the mission and ministry of Community of Faith.



Responsibilities:



  • Support and fulfill the vision, values, and goals of the church

  • Understand and align with the main vision of the church and promoting that vision 

  • Oversee the total guest experience at all cafes and coffee areas during weekend, weekday, and special events 

  • Lead all aspects of the cafe and hospitality through the people of COF by recruiting, training, and caring for volunteer teams

  • Ensure the employee breakroom area is stocked with snacks and beverage needs.

  • Establish and implement quality standards for all cafe and coffee volunteers

  • Oversee and ensure the COF Cafe and hospitality experience on weekends, weekdays, or special events is done with excellence

  • Monitor expenditures to reduce excessive costs and maximize the profit potential of the cafe

  • Oversee the process of ordering necessary cafe needs from local restaurants and supply companies

  • Oversee the receipt of any food and supply deliveries as needed

  • Lead in setup for weekend, weekday, or special events including stocking food, opening registers, leading the volunteer team, and picking up necessary food orders

  • Ensure the proper handling cash registers and depositing of money

  • Stay up to date on current health codes and standards of the food service industry

  • Oversee weekly cleaning of cafes and coffee room areas

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; “secret shopping” at other churches in the area, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

  • Ensure the timely follow-up of all contacts including conversations, phone calls, emails, and social media contacts

  • Anything else as assigned



Qualifications: 



  • Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ

  • A baptized believer of Jesus Christ

  • Committed to, and practices regular prayer and time in the Word

  • Driven to constantly improve job functions - not satisfied with the status quo

  • Flexibility, focused, and strong work ethic are essential    

  • Ability to follow through and juggle multiple tasks and projects

  • Ability to take initiative within the scope of job responsibilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar and spelling

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality, poise, and tact

  • Ability to be respectful and discerning of confidentiality and privacy

  • Ability to work well with other in a team environment

  • Ability to work well under pressure and against deadlines

  • Self-motivated

  • Demonstrated ability in working closely with and leading all ages

  • Demonstrated ability in working closely with and leading volunteers



Details:



  • Workdays and hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:00am to 4:00am and Sunday 8:00am to 1:00pm. Participation in all hands-on deck (AHOD) events.
